$5 Million Grant From The Corporation For Public Broadcasting (CPB) Would Restore The Las Vegas Public Radio Brand And KIOF 90.1 FM As A Non-Commercial Educational (NCE) Independent Public Broadcasting Station; Full Waiver Of FY26 Radio Community Service Grant (Radio CSG) Requirements
LAS VEGAS (LVPR) - In light of the recent actions taken by President Trump, National Public Radio (NPR), Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), a $5 Million grant from the CPB would restore the Las Vegas Public Radio brand and KIOF 90.1 FM as a non-commercial educational (NCE) independent public broadcasting station. A full waiver of FY26 Radio Community Service Grant (Radio CSG) requirements would be needed.
Yes, the former independent public broadcaster can be borught back to life by a simple $5 Million grant made by the CPB to establish the following immediately after the former Las Vegas Public Radio President & CEO receives the grant funding:
- Establishing a new Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. corporation with a board of directors requiring each board member to be a U.S. Millitary Veteran. President Trump is requested to take the seat of the original Las Vegas Public Radio Vice President who was a U.S. Navy (Honnorably Discharged) Veteran while the new corporation is built and station goes on the air. The initial task of the new corporation would be to re-instate the original KIOF 90.1 FM Construction Permit/License with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) into the new corporation.
- $1 Million would initially be allocated to a Las Vegas Public Radio Endowment Fund Interest Bearing Account.
- $250,000 would initially be allocated to Portsonic Communications, LLC (Nevada) to complete a divestiture requirement KIOF-LP 97.9 FM to KIOF 90.1 FM had from 2022 to 2024 that was never completed properly (nor the company also paid for services rendered) when the original Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. was denied Radio CSG funding by the CPB in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. This caused a massive break in the federally mandated Emergency Alert System (EAS) for southern Nevada including critical monitoring of the EAS system based on national security findings the original Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. transferred over to the company from KIOF-LP 97.9 FM shortly before closing down on January 20, 2025.
- $750,000 would initially be allocated to Portsonic Communications, LLC (Nevada) for analysis work yet to be completed on data compiled by the original Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. when KIOF-LP 97.9 FM was on the air from February 1, 2016 to September 4, 2022. The company is working inconjunction with Portsonic Communications, LLC (Arizona) to bring a team of U.S. Millitary Veterans into the companies to assist with the data analysis of the 2022 national security findings.
- $3 Million would initially be allocated to a new operational budget for the new Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. corporation (i.e. establishing new positions and building a new sales team of which the U.S. Veterans on the board would manage).
Of course, because of the past NPR and PBS grift (swindling of the original Las Vegas Public Radio and KIOF 90.1 FM which the organization could not survive due to government officials actions/in-actions), the ball is in the CPB's hands if it supports the U.S. Constitution in any shape or form outside of selective annual serving of existing CPB grantees (mainly NPR and PBS "affiliates", the same "affiliates" receiving all those Radio CSG's for years and years) but blocks new entrants entirely to create a communist style agency by 2016 as seen with the original Las Vegas Public Radio Inc. and KIOF-LP 97.9 FM.
But it's only a dream... because the damage and credibility of the public broadcasting industry as a whole has already been done.
